Weekly Recap

Yesterday we hosted a Developer Livestream on our official Twitch channel. We know it’s been a few months longer than you (and us!) would like since the last Developer Livestream, so we were really thrilled to have our regular panel of Jorg, Seb, and Martial once again provide an update on the latest improvements coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator while also answering many questions from the community, both those pre-submitted before the broadcast and some taken live from viewers in Twitch chat.

In other news, PlayStation 5 simmers can now join the ongoing Sim Update 5 public beta test! If you’re a PS5 user who would like to join the public test and help the team by identifying bugs and other issues in SU5, you can find instructions on how to enroll in the beta here.

Finally, Jorg announced during yesterday’s broadcast that we are targeting next week (April 20-24) for the final full release of Sim Update 5! Please note that this release window is a target and is not yet 100% confirmed. Jorg stated there are a small number of “must fix” bugs remaining that the team has to resolve before we can ship SU5.

Community Fly-In Friday

The iniBuilds TriStar Airliner recently released on the in-sim Marketplace, and we’ve been thrilled by the community’s response to this classic trijet from the 1970s!

For our Community Fly-In group flight this week, we’ll be showcasing the TriStar with special guest co-host Steve from iniBuilds who will share lots of great insight about this aircraft. Our flight will be a scenic tour over the US Southwest departing from Palmdale, Calfornia (where the TriStar was assembled between 1968 and 1984) and arriving at Phoenix Sky Harbor International.

Optional Payware Add-on: Participants may choose to purchase the TriStar Airilner add-on by developer iniBuilds from the in-sim Marketplace. This purchase is entirely optional and is not required to join this fly-in.
