About Bravo Alpha Romeo

Bravo Alpha Romeo (B.A.R. for short), is an initiative where you can volunteer to organize in-person MSFS meetups in your area. Think of these meetups like social hangouts for like-minded simmers near you. They are casual, fun, and give everyone a chance to talk aviation and simming with others nearby.
These events will be run by volunteers in each region who simply enjoy flight sim, so they are not considered “official MSFS events” hosted by Microsoft.
You might be thinking, “Hey, aren’t people already doing that?” The truth is, yes! These events are already happening. Simmers get together everywhere — in bars, restaurants, and event local aviation museums. We simply want to encourage that and help where we can, whether that means connecting coordinators, providing resources, or occasionally attending when possible.
Our goal is to help foster an in-person community for anyone interested in getting together once in a while to chat, grab food, enjoy a pint, and talk flight sim. The Microsoft Flight Simulator Community Team will help facilitate and support coordinators, but we won’t be responsible for the event itself.

The Microsoft Flight Simulator Community Team plan to host our own events when we are able to, in addition to assisting volunteer coordinators in other regions. We’ve had the opportunity to run a few in the past at major conventions like FSExpo and Gamescom, and those experiences have been fantastic for connecting with fans. Moving forward, we will continue hosting when possible and supporting community-led initiatives.
While it isn’t expected that a Microsoft developer will attend these gatherings, if a B.A.R. meetup grows and gains momentum, we will explore ways to join some of the larger community-organized events when we are able. The more we can connect face-to-face, the better.
For bigger volunteer-run events, we may also be able to help in other ways, such as providing Microsoft Flight Simulator swag or giveaway items to enhance the experience. We love supporting the passion and creativity of this community whenever we can.
If you are interested in coordinating an event in your area, please join the B.A.R. Organizer Discord here.
Why be a B.A.R. Organizer?
Coordinating a Bravo Alpha Romeo event is your chance to bring your local sim community to life. If you enjoy meeting new people, swapping aviation stories, or simply want more friends to talk aircraft with, this is a great way to make that happen. What you’ll get by stepping up:
- Guidance and support from the Microsoft Flight Simulator Community Team and other BAR organizers,
- Help spreading the word through our official channels when appropriate,
- Opportunities for swag or digital swag for select events when available,
- A growing local network of simmers who share your passion,
- The satisfaction of helping build real-world connections in our global community,
You don’t need prior event-planning experience or a huge venue. You just need a time, a location, and a willingness to say, “Want to meet up and talk flight sim?” We will support coordinators as much as possible, although swag, promotion, and MSFS staff attendance are not guaranteed. These gatherings belong to the community. If the idea of helping create that connection excites you, you are already the right person for the job. Note: As these events are run by community volunteers, Microsoft is not responsible for your experience or safety at any meetup. Please use caution and good judgment when attending an event organized by a community member.
