February 5th, 2026 MSFS Weekly Briefing

Weekly Recap

A few months ago, we had a request for non-English speakers to assist with ATC language localizations. Thanks to the community’s assistance, we’ve improved ATC language quality for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and made changes to non-English languages in Sim Update 4. We’ve also resolved a handful of key issues based on your feedback. We are once again asking for more language localization assistance from players. If you’re a native speaker of any of the languages listed below and would like to help improve non-English ATC in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, please complete the form at this link.

  • Dutch

In Sim Update 5 news, the development team is continuing to polish the first pre-release test build, and the public beta is targeted to begin this month. We’re excited about the many upcoming bug fixes and other improvements in SU5 and are eager to get the first beta build into the hands of volunteer community testers for your feedback and bug reports!

Please note that for this week’s Marketplace releases, the team encountered an issue and were unable to publish some items for MSFS (2020) and MSFS 2024. We are working to resolve the issue now and will release the delayed products as quickly as possible. We will update this post as soon as the products are available. Thank you for your patience while we work through this issue!

Check out this week’s NEW and UPDATED releases for both the MSFS (2020) and MSFS 2024 in-sim Marketplaces.

Community Fly-In Friday

There are not one but two major sporting events taking place this weekend, so we’re giving attendees of Community Fly-In Friday your choice of two different flight plans to celebrate both of these events!

Option 1: The 2026 Winter Olympic Games open on Friday in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy! If you would a flight in a conventional aircraft to explore the beautiful Italian Alps, choose this option. We’ll depart from Trieste, overfly the mountain town of Cortina d’Amezzo, then make our way to Milan for our full-stop landing.

Option 2: On Sunday, Super Bowl LX is taking place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. If you’d like to fly a blimp and circle the stadium, choose this option. We’ll depart from San Rafael, overly the San Francisco bay area, then make our way to Levi’s Stadium and a full-stop landing at San Jose.

For those choosing Option 2, be sure to claim the recently-released City Update 13: California as a FREE download from the in-sim Marketplace to enjoy the best scenery experience.

Highlights from last week’s Community Fly-In

Last week’s event was a group flight to visit Vietnam! We had our Aircraft Test Lead Khoi join us for this flight along with Twitch Streamer Alyson Johnson.

“That was a amazing flying Friday. One hour earlier parking the Pilatus PC-24 at Noibai Intl. (VVNB) for assigning the key bindings. First time flight with this model and i have to say for a baby Longitude its kind a great airplane too ;).” – RayGausman (Forums)

“It was a nice event, enjoyed the route with its diverse scenery. I set the time so the start of the event was at sunrise, it looked really great in the sim.” – TheHunDude (Forums)

Weekly Flight Inspiration

The world is a big place! If you’re looking for ideas about where to fly this week, check out our Community Managers’ recommendation here!

The Winter Olympics has already technically started, with the Opening Ceremony being held on Friday, February 6th. So why not operate an airliner flight into one of the three major Milan airports of Malpensa (LIMC), Linate (LIML), or Bergamo (LIME), to take fans to the games?

If you’re looking to make things even more challenging, you can fly further eastbound to Bolzano (LIPB), the closest airport to Cortina, where many of the Olympic events are taking place. Don’t forget to install World Update IX: Italy and Malta, which includes free custom airport scenery for Bolzano airport!
