Since our last update, the public betas for both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Sim Update 3 and Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) Sim Update 16 have both received new pre-release test builds. Each of these builds was relatively small and contained few changes, but you can find the release notes below:

As announced last week, several aircraft from the Deluxe and Premium Deluxe Editions of MSFS 2024 are now available to rent from the in-sim Marketplace. If you decide you like the aircraft after renting it and wish to buy it, you will receive a discount on the full purchase price! This week, three new planes are now available to rent:

Dornier Seawing Seastar
Pilatus PC-24
Zlin Aviation Savage Norden

As a reminder, our next Developer Livestream is next Wednesday, July 23, 2025 starting at 10:30am PDT (1730 UTC). You can watch our panel of Jorg, Seb, and Martial respond to questions from the community, discuss the upcoming development roadmap, and reveal other changes coming to the sim live on our official Twitch channel. If you’re not able to watch the broadcast in real-time, we’ll also upload the VOD to our YouTube channel afterward.

Community Spotlight

The Creator of the month of July is Skies and Dolls, a new community group created to connect, support, and inspire women in flight simulation. Whether you’re an experienced simmer or just starting out, Skies and Dolls is a space to learn, share, and build lasting friendships with other women in the virtual skies.

The group was founded by YouTuber AvAngel, Twitch Streamer Alyson Johnson, and Sr. Community Manager of MSFS Jayne Ivana, with a growing team of passionate contributors like The Flying Freja, who now leads many of the group’s events and also launched the Skies and Dolls Virtual Airline.

Skies and Dolls will officially launch on July 24, Amelia Earhart Day, with a celebratory fly-in honoring the 1929 Women’s Air Derby. This event will be multi-streamed live on twitch.tv/msfsofficial, twitch.tv/alyson_johnson, and youtube.com/@avangel.

Joining the broadcast will be Marion Blake, a real-world pilot and professional Amelia Earhart reenactor. You can follow her on Instagram at @the_pinup_pilot.

Skies and Dolls is open to all women, including LGBTQIA+ members, and welcomes simmers of all skill levels, backgrounds, and hardware setups. If you identify as a woman in the flight sim space, we welcome you to join our community on Discord!

Community Fly-In Friday

Next week is EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, the world’s largest fly-in event! To celebrate the occasion, we’re off to KOSH for our Community Fly-In this week, departing from Minneapolis-St. Paul (home of FSExpo 2026) and making our way eastbound across the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Also joining us will be a few members of Skies & Dolls (see Community Spotlight section above), a new community group for women flight simmers! If you’d like to join their group, you can find more information here.
