Weekly Recap

The dev team remains very hard at work on Sim Update 6! In case you missed it, last week we released a new public beta build, version 1.8.8.0. You can read the release notes for this test build on our forums here. As always, we encourage everyone participating in the public beta (available on PC, XBOX Series X|S, and PlayStation 5) to share your comments and submit detailed bug reports in our beta forums and also vote in our feedback surveys here.

In other news, Synaptic Simulations and iniBuilds announced on Tuesday that their highly-anticipated A220 Airliner is coming to the in-sim Marketplace next week! They also created a deep dive video introducing the many exciting features of this modern and versatile narrow body airliner. You can watch the deep dive video on YouTube at the link below.

Welcome To The Synaptic A220

Check out this week’s NEW and UPDATED releases for both the MSFS (2020) and MSFS 2024 in-sim Marketplaces.

Community Fly-In Friday

We return to South America this week for a tour of Ecuador! Our flight plan will see us first fly northwesterly to the town of Manta on the Pacific Ocean coast for a touch & go landing then turn northeast as we make our way into the Andes Mountains to our final destination of Quito, Ecuador’s capital city. All are welcome to join!

Weekly Flight Inspiration

The world is a big place! If you’re looking for ideas about where to fly this week, check out our Community Managers’ recommendation here!

Two major aviation events are both happening this week! In the United States, EAA AirVenture Oshkosh — the world’s largest fly-in — is currently taking place at KOSH in Wisconsin. Meanwhile in the UK, the Farnborough International Airshow is underway at EGLF, approximately 17 nautical miles southeast of Reading. Why not plan a flight to either of these two fantastic airshows?

upcoming Community Events

Regular Community Fly-Ins: If you’re looking to join in with group flights, or even host your own, the best place to begin is via our dedicated Forum category. With a whole host of groups organising regular events, there’s something for everyone! Find more details here.

Community Video

Do you remember love? Or at least Japanese science fiction animation from the 1980s? Developer Delmonte_Simulation recently released a freeware Fanracer aerobatic aircraft inspired by one of the futuristic craft seen in the fan favorite Super Dimension Fortress Macross (超時空要塞マクロス) anime series from 1982. YouTube creator AvAngel downloaded the Fanracer and made the below video review showing the in-sim capabilities of this fun new aircraft.
