Yesterday, we hosted our latest Developer Livestream on our official Twitch channel. Our usual panel of Jorg, Seb, and Martial answered many questions from the community about both Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and then welcomed Marwan Gharib from FlightFX to demo their newly-released aircraft, the Cessna Citation X, the first in our Marketplace Exclusive Series. Also this week, we released three new test builds to those participating in the public beta for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Sim Update 3 and Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) Sim Update 16. You can read the release notes for both below:

The development team has been very closely monitoring the feedback submitted by players in the beta forums and reviewing the telemetry data we receive from testers. Thank you to everyone who has opted in to the beta, shared feedback and bug reports on our forums and voted in the SU3 and SU16 beta player surveys.

Based on our analysis of your feedback and the telemetry data, we have the following updates to share:

Sim Update 16 (MSFS 2020): We’ve seen some positive initial results on performance and stability with the 1.39.9.0 test build and are waiting for more data before we make a final decision on whether to release the update. MSFS 2024

Sim Update 3 (MSFS 2024): The team is currently preparing a new pre-release test build which will include performance improvements and new options to reduce/eliminate static aircraft, fauna, etc. as discussed in the recent Dev Q&A. This beta update is targeted for middle of next week.

An important update on Marketplace Rentals: We are temporarily disabling the option to set new rentals in the 2024 Marketplace while we work through some minor kinks. Thank you for your patience.

In recognition of the event, we hosted a fly-in today with the founding members of Skies and Dolls and Marion Blake, a licensed pilot and professional Amelia Earhart impersonator. Community Fly-In Friday

This week, we’re off to the sunny Caribbean Sea to island hop across several scenic destinations, including a longtime favorite of both flight simmers and real-life aviation fans, Princess Juliana International (TNCM)!

The flight will also see us attempt a full stop landing at the world’s shortest commercial runway in Saba (TNCS)!
