Weekly Recap
Following last week’s release of Sim Update 5.1 and World Update 22: United States National Parks, we are now pleased to begin the Sim Update 6 Pre-Release Public Beta Test. You can find the release notes for the first test build (1.8.5.0) on our forums here. If you would like to participate in this optional public beta test, you can find instructions on how to enroll (available on PC-Windows Store, PC-Steam, XBOX Series X|S, and PlayStation 5) in this forum thread.
For those in the beta, your timely feedback and bug reports are absolutely essential and valued greatly by the dev team. Please be sure to vote in our surveys for each test build and report any issues you encounter in the appropriate subsection of the SU6 Beta forums. Thank you to everyone for their participation and assistance in helping make SU6 the best it can be!
We are also excited to announce a special livestream on our official Twitch channel next week starting at 12:00pm PDT (1900 UTC) on Wednesday, July 15. In this broadcast, we’ll be joined by developers from iniBuilds and Synaptic Simulations to demo their upcoming A220! Simmers who enjoy flying modern narrow-body airliners will definitely want to tune in for this livestream for a deep dive into the features of this highly-anticipated new aircraft add-on. For a sneak peek, you can watch the A220 trailer on YouTube at the link below:
Check out this week’s NEW and UPDATED releases for both the MSFS (2020) and MSFS 2024 in-sim Marketplaces.
Community Fly-In Friday
July 12 is the National Day holiday for the Pacific island nation of Kiribati, commemorating their independence from the UK in 1979! This country is near and dear to many MSFS players (IYKYK ), so we’re excited to visit it for our Community Fly-In Friday group flight this week!
Also, as recently announced, Senior Community Manager Jayne will soon be leaving the MSFS Team to pursue another career opportunity outside of Microsoft. If you’d like to see Jayne as a co-host for one final group flight and to wish her well in her next role, be sure to tune in to the Twitch livestream this week!

Weekly Flight Inspiration
The world is a big place! If you’re looking for ideas about where to fly this week, check out our Community Managers’ recommendation here!
Let’s try a change of pace! If you’re usually an airliner sim pilot, why not switch things up and try a helicopter for some rotary flying? Or if you’re usually a bush pilot, join up with a friend for some aerobatic practice? With so much variety of aircraft available, you’re sure to find something different to your normal choice!
upcoming Community Events
Regular Community Fly-Ins: If you’re looking to join in with group flights, or even host your own, the best place to begin is via our dedicated Forum category. With a whole host of groups organising regular events, there’s something for everyone! Find more details here.
Community Video
Another popular helicopter recently launched by 3rd party developer “Taog’s Hangar”, with their rendition of the AS365 Dauphin. For this week’s Community Video we join Steve’s Sim Station for a VIP trip over the Alps of France!
