June 26th, 2025 Development Update

This week’s Screenshot Challenge winner for the second week running is X user pommes_l! If you’re interested in participating in our weekly Screenshot Challenges, check out the details in the Community section below.

Over the past week, we released three new pre-release test builds, two for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Sim Update 3 and one for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) Sim Update 16You can read the release notes for these builds linked below:

We are very closely monitoring reports from community testers about an increase in crashes to desktop (CTDs) in SU3 beta build 1.5.10.0. Based on player feedback thus far, these crashes appear to be related to using third-party mods which use the SimConnect API. To assist the development team in troubleshooting and resolving this issue, we encourage SU3 beta testers to post their findings about which mods/add-ons seem to cause the CTD in this forum thread.

Our Marketplace Summer sale is now live for both MSFS (2020) and 2024! For 14 Days starting on June 26th, save up to 75% on more than 200 items in MSFS 2024 and up to 88% on more than 3300 items in MSFS (2020).

Creator of the month

Our June 2025 Creator Highlight focuses on popular Twitch.tv streamer Grizzle!

Grizzle began his gaming career within the world of First Person Shooter games, before turning to sim racing. His passion for flight simulation started when his father showed him how to pilot a Cessna in Microsoft Flight Simulator for Windows 95, classing this as one of his core childhood memories.

Since then Grizzle has remained passionate about aviation, and began creating content for Microsoft Flight Simulator after being inspired by other livestreamers within the flight sim community. Not only does Grizzle fly, but he’s also regularly seen providing Air Traffic Control on the VATSIM network.

If you’ve ever watched Grizzle’s livestream before you’ll have noticed his incredible sim rig setup, capable of switching between flight simulation and racing at a moments notice. Whilst he says there is always something he wants to adjust, his best piece of advice for aspiring sim rig builders is to start small and enjoy the process! Grizzle’s main focus on livestream revolves around the plethora of high fidelity airliners within Microsoft Flight Simulator, although he has recently added variety by switching from fixed wing to rotary having discovered a new passion for helicopter operations.

We love the positive atmosphere Grizzle brings to every stream, and with the mantra, “Be good to yourself and to each other whilst enjoying the virtual skies!”, we’re looking forward to seeing what’s in store in the future for Grizzle and his community! You can watch Grizzle’s livestream via his Twitch.tv channel linked here: www.twitch.tv/grizzle.

Community Fly-In Friday

FlightSimExpo 2025, North America’s largest gathering of flight sim enthusiasts, is taking place this weekend in Providence, Rhode Island! While the MSFS team will not be present this year because we’re hard at work delivering MSFS 2024 SU3 and MSFS (2020) SU16, we wish everyone who will be attending safe travels and an enjoyable weekend with fellow members of the flight sim community!

To celebrate the event, our Fly-In Friday destination this week will be a southbound journey along coastal New England, starting in Bangor and ending in Providence, site of FSExpo 2025. While en route, we will also make touch & go landings at Portland, Boston, and Cape Cod
