Weekly Recap

Public testing for Sim Update 5 remains ongoing with a new test build released earlier this week. You can see the full release notes for beta build 1.7.10.0 on our forums here. As always, if you are participating in the beta, please remember to vote in our feedback surveys and submit a bug report in the appropriate subsection of the forums if you encounter any issues. Thank you once again to everyone from the community who is helping test these pre-release beta builds!

Next week the MSFS team will be in Lelystad, Netherlands for the FlightSim Weekend event! This will be our first time attending a dedicated flight sim community event in Europe, and we’re excited to meet many of you in person! If you’ll be attending FSWeekend, be sure to stop by the MSFS booth to meet members of the team and try your hand at various in-sim flying challenges for your chance to win some great prizes! We hope to see many of you there! Full details about the event can be found on the FSWeekend website here. The MSFS team has the largest booth in the exhibition hall, so we’ll be easy to find! Please note that the MSFS Community Team will all be travelling to FSWeekend next week, so there will not be a Weekly Briefing on March 19. We’ll catch up with you again on March 26!

Community Fly-In Friday

We’re off to the jungles of Indonesia this week for a flight over Indonesia ending at the epic dirt airstrip of Bugalaga, a long-time favorite of flight simmers due to its incredibly challenging approach and landing!

Joining us as guest co-hosts are ADKeSTOL and ItzNorcallyJ from National eSTOL to talk about their organization and competitive Short Takeoff and Landing competitions in Microsoft Flight Simulator!

upcoming Community Events

FlightSimWeekend: Later this month the annual FlightSimWeekend event will take place in Lelystad, Netherlands. This event is held at the Aviodrome Aviation Museum, which will be open for community members to explore alongside the event. The Microsoft Flight Simulator team will be present at the event, where we are looking forward to attending our first dedicated flight simulation event in Europe!

B.A.R Community Check-In – Warbirds Over Wanaka 2026: Popular content creator twotonemurphy has revealed a new B.A.R meetup at the Crosswinds Cade during Warbirds of Wanaka in New Zealand. This is a great spot with view of the air display and is free to access. This will be the first B.A.R event in New Zealand, and we’ll be sure to share more details once the details are finalised!
