March 7th, 2024 – Development Update

This week’s Screenshot Challenge winner is Twitter user @tsujiKa_air! If you’re interested in participating in our weekly Screenshot Challenges, check out the details in the Community section below!

Earlier today, we released a new beta build (1.37.7.0) for all players enrolled in the Sim Update 15 (SU_15) beta test. You can see the release notes on our forums here.

As always, we’d like to thank the players who continually provide invaluable feedback during these beta tests. Be sure to share your feedback on our forums here.

Also today, we released updates to three Local Legends/Famous Flyers: the Bell 47J Ranger, Junkers F 13, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries MU-2. These updates are available to download now from the in-sim Content Manager. The release notes are on our forums here.

Our next Developer Livestream is scheduled for March 13 at 10:30am PT (1730 UTC)! As always, it will be hosted on our official Twitch channel, so please follow it if you are not already to receive notifications whenever we go live.

If you missed the opportunity to pre-submit a question in advance, our panel will be taking live questions from Twitch chat during the event, so be sure to attend.

Community Fly-In Friday

March 8 is both International Women’s Day and part of Women of Aviation Week! To mark this occasion, our Community Fly-In this week will be a historic re-creation of the first two stages of one of the most important events from the pioneering days of women’s aviation history, the 1929 Women’s Air Derby!

Joining us as guest co-hosts for this event will be three women from the Microsoft Flight Simulator community, each of whom are IRL licensed pilots or student pilots: Alyson Johnson, FactualGull, and Heidiological!

Event details are available here. All are welcome to participate!

Community Video

Combining cinematic shots with graceful music, this week’s Community Video is brought to you by Cpt. WhiteKnight. From snowy mountains to city skyscrapes, Cpt. WhiteKnight provides a glimpse into the Alberta province of Canada.

We were very impressed with the composition of this short video, and look forward to hopefully seeing more in the near future!
