Develop the skills required and navigate the complexities encountered by actual Top Gun pilots in authentic locations including the most challenging landing – on an aircraft carrier. This offering will push your piloting abilities to the limits—and beyond.

We stream weekly on Twitch.tv/MSFSOfficial! The Top Gun: Maverick expansion is available now as a free download from the in-sim Marketplace! To celebrate the release of this DLC and the new Top Gun film in cinemas, this week’s Community Fly-In Friday will see us flying F/A-18 Super Hornets departing from Miramar, performing a touch & go landing at Edwards AFB, flying through the Rainbow Canyon (aka Star Wars Canyon), then continuing on to a full stop landing at Las Vegas. Click here to learn moreAll are welcome to participate!

COMMUNITY VIDEO

One of the new features released in the free Top Gun: Maverick DLC is the Darkstar, Microsoft Flight Simulator’s first hypersonic scramjet. This unique aircraft requires some different flying techniques and procedures to reach speeds in excess of Mach 9, but thankfully YouTuber JetSimmer has posted a tutorial video on how to start the Darkstar from cold and dark, accelerate to Mach 3, then enable the scramjets and enter hypersonic flight. If you want to master this extremely fast plane, check out this video!
