November 5, 2026 Weekly Briefing

Weekly Recap

Sim Update 7.2 is available now! This is a small patch that resolves a few issues from Sim Update 7 released on October 13. You can read the full change log for SU7.2 here.

Also releasing this week for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) is the Saab 340B! This twin turboprop has already been available for MSFS 2024 pilots, but now MSFS (2020) simmers can enjoy it too! You can find it from the in-sim Marketplace for USD $19.99.

Launching with last week’s release of World Update 23: Poland and The Baltics is the Sopot Pier Precision Landing Challenge. This is a simulated re-creation of a very real aviation accomplishment completed by Red Bull pilot Łukasz Czepiela of Poland in 2019 in which he landed a CubCrafters Carbon Cub on the 150m long Sopot Pier. Now you can attempt the same feat of immense piloting skill too in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024!

Sopot Pier Precision Landing Challenge

Last Friday we hosted several popular Twitch and YouTube flight simulation creators to challenge our Community Manager Chewwy94 in the new National Championship Air Races mode! Competing in five classes (Biplane, Jet, STOL Drag, T-6, and Unlimited), the racers earned points based on their finishing position in each event. Who was the overall champion? Watch the VOD to find out!

NCAR Creator Tournament

Check out this week’s NEW and UPDATED releases for both the MSFS (2020) and MSFS 2024 in-sim Marketplaces.

Editor’s note: there is a small delay with publishing today’s Marketplace Update blog post. The new and updated products themselves are available as normal in the Marketplace, but we won’t have the blog listing available until Friday, November 6. Thank you for your patience.

Community Fly-In Friday

After a break last week for the NCAR Creator Tournament, we’re returning to the 6th Anniversary Circumnavigation on Friday! Our flight plan this week will take us from Chicago to the shores of Lake Ontario for a touch & go landing in Toronto, followed by another touch & go in Montreal before our full stop landing at Goose Bay, Labrador!

Note the start time! With many parts of the world switching from Daylight Saving Time to Standard Time recently, the start time for Fly-In Friday is now 1900 UTC, one hour later than the previous March-October start time of 1800 UTC. This may or may not be different time from previous Fly-In Friday events in your local time zone depending if your area changed times recently.
